Following a comprehensive process the decision was made to take 18,500 sq ft at Princes Dock – a five-storey, Grade A office building adjacent to the River Mersey, providing state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Liverpool’s new Central Docks neighbourhood. Aztec created a space that allowed Griffiths & Armour (G&A) to work more cohesively and improve workflow between teams, as their brief from the start was very clear the project should be about their people. This enhanced environment benefits staff well being and showcases the G&A brand.
Key to the solution was the variety of spaces, bringing movement and fluidity into the office environment throughout the day, removing the need for staff to be tethered to a single desk, making their time in the office more enjoyable and boosting productivity. Aztec incorporated a variety of spaces, including hot desks, meeting rooms and private workspace, along with comfortable, informal places to read a newspaper or enjoy a coffee. The kitchen area was deigned to replicate the ‘water cooler effect’, creating a social space for its team of 130, making interaction between separate teams much more frequent.
The meeting spaces Aztec created encompasses several elements, including private booths, banquet social space, individual lounge chairs and a social collaboration table. The breakfast bar – “The View” – showcases the vista across the Mersey river and is a space designed for use by staff and clients, both for formal meetings and social events.
