We understand the complexities of the work that we do and have both in-house capability and a network of specialist partner organisations to help us deliver high-quality work on time and to the exacting standards that our clients expect from us.

We invest in our team, partners and in communities. We are particularly passionate about the healthcare and education sectors and have supported a number of projects in these sectors over the years because of the vital work they do in communities.

Aztec, has traded for nearly four decades and has become a prominent fit-out and construction specialist. Aztec’s in-house skill-sets include all aspects of construction, commercial fit-out and M&E.

Meet the

Tony Pyper

My main responsibilities involve qualifying all the new enquiries as they come to Aztec and the delivery of the interior fit-out projects ensuring quality and on programme completion.

As a qualified electrical engineer with 25 years’ experience in the fit-out industry, I provide direction, technical input and design solutions to our Contracts Managers and Site Managers, along with overseeing the selection and appointment of any sub-contractors.

I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with several award winning planners and designers during my time in the industry, and on some incredibly exciting projects. This has allowed me to develop a well-rounded approach in terms of concept, scheme, cost and client requirements.

Iain Peacock

Managing Director

I came to Liverpool in 1985 as a Civil Engineering graduate and have built up a wealth of knowledge over 36 years in the construction industry, making many friends along the way. I consider myself flexible and pragmatic and try to introduce a collaborative way of working with Clients and partners alike whenever possible.

Aztec has three strands…construction, workplace consultancy/fit out and M&E. As MD, I look after the financial welfare and structure planning of all three, with particular attention to risk profiling. I also enjoy the lighter side of the business overseeing the technical side of building projects.

We are fortunate to have three very experienced Directors in their fields looking after the three areas of the business in me, Tony and Dave and are confident in managing multi-million-pound projects. We’ve enjoyed steady growth over 34 years in Liverpool, and we are looking forward to more repeat business and a bright future.

Dave Pennington

I joined Aztec in 2016 to look after the M&E division which has seen steady growth since. I also oversee smaller fit-out works, a sign of the flexibility in senior management which we encourage throughout the company.

Having worked in the electrical and mechanical industry for 35 years as a qualified Electrical Engineer, delivering projects for blue-chip companies in prestigious buildings nationwide., I have gained a wide range of knowledge of M&E installation work, covering both the industrial and commercial sectors.

Taking projects from initial enquiry to completion, from the initial design and estimation process through to practical completion and handover.

Using the years of experience gained across many types of installations and as a member of the NICEIC and ECA, I look to keep our standards as high as possible whilst offering the most cost-effective solutions to our Clients.

Jenny Plent

Interior Design Lead

I joined Aztec in 2021 as their in-house Interior Designer and look after furnishings. I lead our Clients through the process of designing their interiors from brief through concept to design development. I would then generate proposed layouts, providing several iterations and space plans culminating in a final design.

Hannah Reid

Office Manager

I cover two roles at Aztec. My day-to-day job is to manage the smooth running of the office, be the first point of call between the Contracts Managers and suppliers placing orders and provide the crucial link between the delivery and finance/admin.

I also look after what we refer to as our “badges”, maintaining the high standards required for our quality and environmental accreditations.

Dawn Hardaker

Finance & Human Resources

I have worked for Iain for twenty-five years, previous to his merger with Aztec and for the last ten years as Finance Manager but I also have two “hats” in that I look after internal HR. Managing the finances is a very full and demanding job in covering sales and purchase ledgers as well as payroll.

Fulfilling the HR role is easier as I’m seen as the matriarch of the company and have known most of the labour force for so long.

Emma Wilson

Finance and admin support

I am the new girl having recently joined Aztec. I provide financial and admin support and can only say in the short time I’ve been here I am staggered by the quantity of processing in a company of our size… never a quiet moment.
