Botley Hill
Aztec were invited to construct a facility for weddings and leisure on a site within the green belt, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The location is at the highest elevational point of the South Downs and is an area of exceptional landscape importance. The wedding and events facility is incorporated as part of a wider leisure complex including an1 8th-century listed farmhouse now operating as a public house.
The site is surrounded by working agricultural and therefore necessitated following stringent planning conditions and redesign to ensure the build met statutory compliance. The concept was achieved to meet the significant environmental and aesthetic challenges that faced us. The steel-framed structure was clad in Siberian larch externally and in reclaimed mill boards internally. The finished barns sit beautifully in the local landscape on the Titsey estate. Since completion the facility has hosted hundreds of weddings and special events, bringing the brief to life.
