Residential Gym fit out Swan Street House, Manchester.
Gyms are naturally loud environments with weights being dropped, machine noises, music, and instructors the main culprits. Poor acoustics can cause excessive echo and reverberation making the space feel chaotic and stressful. Good acoustics reduce harsh noise and make the environment more comfortable, so people are more likely to stay longer and come back.
The gym flooring was a fundamental area which needed special attention. Following weight drop tests and airborne sound insulation tests, our dedicated consultants recommended the best products to use. On the flooring we used an acoustic tile from Pliteq using their floor made from recycled rubber. The product is engineered to reduce structure borne sound and transmission in concrete construction.
Aztec also worked in partnership with Autex one of the leading acoustic suppliers providing wall mounted products. These products are made from 100% polyester fibre with a minimum of 45-60% previously recycled fibre (dependent on product category). Their products have a 100-year life expectancy, after which the materials are designed to be 100% recyclable. Autex products are also manufactured using 100% PET and no formaldehyde, or any other harmful materials, are added during production or post-production processing. The products do not have any ozone depletion potential (ODP).
