Aztec have recently completed a new solar panel installation at their factory in Bootle and are already generating 40% of their energy requirements (that’s in December!)
We realised that to sustain growth and to create opportunities in both public and private sectors we needed to look internally at our environmental impact, a pre-requisite for winning contracts in the future. We looked at reducing our CO2e through improving energy efficiency, reducing consumption and solar installation, hoping to spread awareness and best practice in the sector. In addition we will look to continue aligning with client’s own ESG goals.
Aztec were able to achieve this with the assistance of Liverpool University and the Low Carbon Eco-Innovatory Project, with whom we have a long-standing relationship in sustainability initiatives, who advised on a fund matched grant under the UK Shared Prosperity fund. We consider this to be a great example of collaboration between academia and business and are grateful for their assistance and advice.
