Construction work on heritage buildings requires a knowledgeable, considered approach with specialist expertise.
The Church was in need of a major refurbishment, along with the creation of a new space inside the building to host community events and live performances, as well as religious services. The aim was to create a modern, warm and welcoming place of worship for all to enjoy.
Aztec were able to advise on due diligence and compliance prior to the commencement of the project. Aztec delivered an extensive re-ordering and refurbishment works, both external and internal. Works included a complete M&E renewal, including underfloor heating and complete refinishing. Safety and security was also paramount, with electrical systems updated to include new emergency lighting, new fire alarms and a new security system installed.
The worship area within the Church received a new raised floor covered in Amtico, DDA compliant ramps for accessibility to the building, along with bespoke manufactured joinery, including radius altar rails. We remodelled the Sacristy and created new kitchen and toilet facilities.
